Birth of the liTTle mAn Series

It all began with the first painting of a small be-speckled gentleman sitting in an extremely oversized, blue recliner. Imagine a vividly, abstracted cloud of smoke streaming from his pipe, as he ruminates over adventures to be had, dreams unanswered, and a life not fully appreciated.

One day, the liTTle mAn stopped wondering what quests others endeavored and set out to make his own.

liTTle mAn’s adventures guided him through a field of giant blue tulips, a picnic with hungry birds, a summer stroll through an enchanted wooded landscape, a drink with an old friend, lounging in a refreshing Margarita, musical butterflies, solo saxophone performance, a funny golf outing and finally a chance encounter with a new friend….on a breezy day….under a cherry tree.

Who is the liTTle mAn?

liTTle mAn is a compilation of stories from encounters with people I have met, befriended, worked with, and casually "people-watched" while at a stop light or during a leisurely walk with my family. I was never really great at storytelling through words. Instead, I prefer to tell stories - either my own or imagined - through the use of paint or other medium. If one of my paintings or art pieces grabs an observer's eye - the story has intrigued him/her at first glance. I always like to ask the observer - "What do you see? What drew you to this piece?”

I hope admirers of the liTTle mAn are filled with joy and experience a moment of child-like curiosity about the story behind each painting.
